US Hits 500,000 COVID-19 Deaths

  • The U,S, coronavirus death toll has topped 500,000 on Sunday, the highest in the world
  • The number of COVID-19 deaths is more than double the number of Americans that died in World War II, according to the Department of Veteran Affairs
  • More than 2,462,000 have died from COVID-19-related complications worldwide, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University
  • The U.S. has recorded more than 28,206,600 cases, with California being the hardest-hit state with 3,527,642 confirmed cases
  • However, authorities say the number of daily new cases have declined in recent days, with the number falling below 100,000 on Feb 12 for the first time in months
