How does India have So Few Cases of COVID-19?

- For weeks, experts suspected that India's large, dense population might be the next hotspot that COVID-19 seeps into. However, at the end of April, the country of more than 1.3 billion people barely has 1,000 confirmed cases.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi placed the country on a multi-week lockdown as soon as it became apparent that there could be a problem. Modi is receiving credit for his appropriately serious reaction.
- A recent analysis projected that, if not for Modi's lockdown, India would have at least 100,000 cases. Instead, it has one percent of that.
