COVID-19: The US has Vaccinated 1 Million People So Far

  • The US has vaccinated just over 1 million people in the US with the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine as of Wednesday morning
  • The figure is a far cry from the federal government's goal of inoculating 20 million Americans by the end of the year
  • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported that 1,008,025 shots had been administered as of Wednesday 9am ET
  • The US would need to vaccinate more than 2.1 million people daily to meet its goal of vaccinating 20 million people by Dec. 31
  • This comes as the government has approved two COVID-19 vaccines for emergency use
