- China is attempting to get a handle on a second wave of COVID-19 in its northern provinces before the virus gets out of hand again.
- Qiu Haibo, one of China's top critical care doctors, reported on Chinese television this week that the virus is now manifesting in patients differently than it originally did in Wuhan.
- Some virus experts are speculating that this means COVID-19 could be evolving in unknown ways.
- Current COVID-19 infections in the north and northeast appear to have an even longer gestation period before patients begin showing symptoms. Prior to these new cases, most patients have shown symptoms within 10-14 days.
